6 new rooms are currently being built on the 3rd and 4th floors of our hotel. The two "Lichtblick Superior" rooms pamper you on around 30 m² with a free-standing bathtub and a large sunbathing terrace. Four new "Lichtblick" rooms offer pure comfort on 25 to 30 m² with a bright room ambience - optionally bookable with a terrace or balcony.
In our new building, nature and architecture interweave to create a symbiosis of modern design and alpine charm. Old wood is combined with modern accents. Glass fronts allow the interior to merge with the mountain landscape. Light finds its way in - and with it the lightness of being.
Since 2021, we have been breaking new ground in terms of climate protection and sustainability in the Kaunertal Nature Park and Glacier Region as Nature Park Designers. We design your vacation offer according to the guidelines of the internationally applicable Social Development Goals, or SDGs for short. These were launched by the United Nations in 2015 for an ecologically sustainable and socially just future.
The Kaunertal, your vacation region, and its villages are among the quality-certified Tyrolean family nests that stand for an exceptional and high-quality family offer. Experience nature and mountains. Grow beyond yourself. That is on our daily program.
When hiking trails lead to hidden natural treasures and bubbling mountain streams make children's eyes light up. When adventure awaits around every corner, it makes for an unforgettable vacation.
From your first overnight stay at our hotel, you will receive the Summercard and Kids Card Kaunertal for many included services and discounts in the vacation region free of charge.
Austria's largest ibex colony climbs freely between rocks and mountain meadows in the Kaunertal. 84 three-thousand-meter peaks are a feast for the eyes from above and below. Countless easy to challenging hiking routes invite you to climb up and down. Summer in the Kaunergrat Nature Park is ... free.
The Kaunertal Glacier Road leads over 29 hairpin bends up into the eternal ice. On the way, you pass all the vegetation zones of the Alps, the Gepatsch reservoir and numerous signposted hiking trails. At the end, Tyrol's highest excursion road leads into the impressive natural backdrop of the Gepatschferner. Breathe in the fresh, clear air of the high Alps.
At the entrance to the Kaunertal, the Sommerberg Fendels awaits families with a large mountain adventure playground, water games, Kneipp facility, trampoline, mountain cart track, mountain bike trail and great themed hiking trails including a digital scavenger hunt. At the foot of the cable car, the Ried bathing lake beckons with a dip in the turquoise-green water.
The Holderli Seppl via ferrata runs along the thundering Riffelbach waterfall in Fernergries. Built by the Kaunertal mountain guides, the easy to moderately difficult via ferrata was named after our senior boss, father, grandpa and Sepp "Holderli" Praxmarer, who was also a mountain guide. Since the fall of 2023, another, more challenging climb on the side wall near the village in the Kaunertal has been attracting visitors with spectacular ascents and deep views.
Emerald-green mountain lakes and sparkling white water in the Kaunertal not only have a special attraction for those suffering from the heat. Several water hikes in the Nature Park & Glacier Region guarantee refreshment and cooling off beyond the summer heat.
In addition to a variety of schnapps made from local fruits, we also offer the Kaunertal Full Moon Gin as well as our brand new Holderli Rum - a true pirate of the mountains. How about enriching your vacation stay with a regional schnapps tasting? We will be happy to organize an enjoyable tasting in our show distillery on request.
