THE NATURE PARK KAUNERGRAT AND THE KAUNERTAL ARE CONSIDERED A SECRET TIP AMONG FISHING ENTHUSIASTS

Trout, char, carp, tench, roach and even pike cavort in wild mountain streams, crystal clear high mountain lakes, deep ponds and the Inn as the largest river. 

The Faggenbach, which flows directly past Hotel Edelweiß in Feichten, offers the best conditions for fly fishing with its varied and often shallow stream course. The brown trout reigns here and with a lot of luck even a rare rainbow trout can be attracted. You can get your day ticket for the fishing area Faggenbach Mitte directly at the hotel by your hotel manager Klemens Praxmarer.

Or you can drive up to the Gepatsch Stausee, where you can fish at 1,767 meters above sea level in front of the imposing mountain backdrop of the Ötztal Alps.

Fishing in the Kaunertal

According to the Tyrolean fishing law, a fishing license is required to be allowed to fish in Tyrolean waters. Fishing season in the Kaunertal is from mid-May to the end of September. Only barbless dry flies and nymphs may be used as bait. Catch & release" applies as catch limit/catch material. Fish removal is only allowed for fresh consumption at Hotel Edelweiss.
